The next day we journeyed to Yokohama to visit friends of Barbara. Yokohama is essentially a suburb of Tokyo and is about a 30 minute train-ride. Barbara's friends, Katsu and Kyoko, entertained us at their home. Katsu is a teacher and about to retire. As an exchange student many years ago, he stayed with Barbara at her home in California where they struck up a life-long friendship.
