We then drove from Auckland to Rotorua where
we spent a couple of days. One of the places we visited was
the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, limestone caverns that, in addition
to beautiful formations, house glow worms. These are small
insects that attach themselves to the ceiling of the cave and
have a bioluminescent glow that attracts smaller insects for
food. The ceiling looks like a star-lit night sky!
