The oldest continually operating synagogue in Europe, this is called the Old-New Synagogue. It was called the New And Great Schul when it was built as the second one in Prague in the 13th century, but got its current name when others were built in the 16th century. For those of you who know the golem tale, it was the rabbi of this synagogue who supposedly created the golem out of clay to help out with work, had to kill it when it got out of hand, and then buried it in the attic of this synagogue.
