A view of the Grand Cascade looking toward the Peterhof Palace. This side of the palace faces the Baltic. All of the water comes naturally from spring water collected in reservoirs on the bluff of the Upper Gardens 100 meters from the shore upon which stands the Peterhof Palace. No pumps are needed to create the many fountains on the palace grounds. The height differential between the Upper Gardens and the Lower Gardens provide all the water pressure necessary.
